Laboratory Manager (Production Chemistry)

We are looking to recruit a Laboratory Manager (Production Chemistry) for a year’s contract for a large oil and gas organisation based in Aberdeen.

Excellent people-management skills are required, to supervise a team of around ten people. Key to the role is an in-depth understanding of offshore production processes, and preferably you will have had previous offshore working experience as a production chemist, or possibly experience working as an account manager within a production chemistry environment.

As well as managing the team, the role is very much a ‘hands-on’ post, and will involve the carrying out and supervision of testing (offshore samples and of chemicals), both in the laboratory, and throughout their chemical inventory. QHSE and QA/QC work are obviously very strong elements of this role. Meticulous recording and report writing skills are also required, as is the ability to liaise with clients regarding the work carried out.

Based in Aberdeen, the role is anticipated to last around 12 months. Salary £35-45k.
